FAQ
Can I freely combine the ramp(s) and mat(s)?
Yes! There are different ways to combine ramps, mats and drive-over protection.
We recommend that our customers install additional ramps for one axle instead of the overrun protection. This makes it possible to drive over the front Tire Saver axle set. Particularly recommended if you have limited space.
Is there a maximum permissible vehicle weight?
We carried out our tests with vehicle weights of up to 3,000 kg and did not detect any loss in the function of the mat. Of course, increased compression of the mat in the area of the contact surface is to be expected.
Is the material hazardous to health?
The material used complies with the current REACH regulation in all properties and material parameters. However, we would like to expressly advise against swallowing particles, prolonged skin contact or any other ingestion of the material. This is especially true for allergy sufferers!
What tire width fits on the mat?
The maximum tire width is 385 mm. There is no restriction in terms of wheel circumference for cars.
What are the dimensions and weights of the set or the mats and ramps?
The mat:
- L x W x H: 385 x 385 x 40 [mm]
- Weight: approx. 6.0 [kg]
The ramp:
- L x W x H: 340 x 385 x 40 [mm]
- Weight: approx. 2.9 [kg]
The overrun protection:
- L x W x H: 124 x 385 x 40 (or 60) [mm]
- Weight: approx. 1.8 [kg]
Can I freely combine the individual modules?
Yes, that is possible! The central element of the Tire Saver System is the mat. The mat can be combined with either two ramps or with one ramp and one overrun protection.
Where can I buy the Tire Saver?
Right here in our shop. Enjoy shopping!
Other tire shoes have a depression in the standing surface, why is this area a flat surface on the Tire Saver?
That is absolutely correct. Other providers rely on the integration of ramps and a rounding of the contact surface. Our research has shown that this design offers no advantages in terms of the size of the contact surface between the tire and the tire shoe. Furthermore, the design makes it more difficult to drive over the mat with vehicles that have very little ground clearance. The steep incline angle of the ramps can lead to contact between the vehicle body and the tire shoe, which in turn can lead to damage. Based on these findings, we have modified our design and can also achieve contact-free driving over with super sports cars / hypercars.
Do the Tire Saver need to be attached to the ground?
No, the Tire Saver by Vorwerk does not necessarily have to be connected to the floor. However, we have provided two holes in the rear area of the mat so that the Tire Saver can be screwed to the floor. Slipping is generally prevented by the mat's own weight and the non-slip surface, even on smooth surfaces.
There are marks from my tires on the surface of my Tire Saver. Is this normal?
Yes, that's perfectly fine.
The particularly soft surface of the Tire Saver by Vorwerk allows the tire profile to sink easily into the surface of the Tire Saver. This optimally distributes the pressure and prevents flat spots.
Will the Tire Saver cause discoloration on my floor?
Yes, the Tire Saver will rub off a little and may leave brownish stains on the floor. These stains can be removed with ethanol, benzine, acetone or similar products.
